    If you have a slow PC and see yourself dropping Frames some of these suggestions may help you out.

    First thing you can do is keep unnecessary processes from starting up.
    ~Click start
    ~Type in search bar MSConfig
    ~Select the Startup tab
    ~Casually go through and find programs that are not needed on startup and uncheck the box beside the program.

    Defrag Your computer at least once a week.
    ~Click Start
    ~All programs
    ~Accessories
    ~System Tools
    ~Disk Defragment
    ~Defrag the disk

    Clearing your Prefetch and Temp Files at least once a week.
    ~Click Start
    ~Computer
    ~Local Disk C
    ~Windows
    ~Inside your windows folder a "Temp" and "Prefetch" Folder is located there.
    ~Select All Items inside these folders and delete them It is 100% Safe (Do Not delete the entire folder -.- just the contents inside )

    The Last tip i have for you will change your Desktops appearance all together but with have a noticeable impact on performance.

    Adjusting your Computer settings to best Performance.
    ~Click Start
    ~Right Click Computer
    ~Properties
    ~Select Advanced System Settings on the right Side (Make sure you are on the Advanced tab in the new window that opened up)
    ~Under performance Click Settings
    ~There will be 4 options. To increase your computers performance Select "Adjust for best Performance"
    ~Click apply and okay.

    ~~~~This is going to make your windows look older but will have one of the best Impacts on your systems performance~~~~
    Other Things you can do:
    Download a cleaner such as CCleaner to help sort things out.
    For Minecraft Get optifine
    Scan for adaware/malware/viruses
    Clearing browser history/cookies
    ~~~~Not Recommended for People with a curios Finger~~~~~
    One thing i do and this is completely up to you. If you rarely have an issue with viruses/malware/adaware then once your done with your antivirus go ahead and uninstall it. Most antiviruses sit in the background and take up resources. Always remember to keep the .exe in your downloads folder so you can quickly install it if needed. This is not recommended However if you know what you are doing online and avoid things you shouldn't be messing with it does have its perks.

    All of these are Things i use to do when i had a slower computer. Most of them i still do even though its not needed.
